Marking 50 years of India-Vietnam diplomatic relations, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar along with his counterpart from Vietnam, Bui Thanh Son on Friday, June 17, launched a joint logo depicting longstanding India-Vietnam partnership.
In a statement released, explaining the details of the logo, the Ministry of External Affairs said, “The image represents long-standing friendship between India and Vietnam symbolically through a peacock and a crane, the birds of national importance in the two countries respectively. It also includes the numeral 50 to denote the 50 years of diplomatic relations and the national flags of India and Vietnam at its Centre.”
“The logo has been selected jointly by the two sides through a contest open for nationals of both countries,” the release added.
"Speaking of the Vietnam-India ties on the occasion, the visiting FM of Vietnam said, “I’m honoured to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of India-Vietnam Diplomatic Relations with EAM Dr. S Jaishankar in New Delhi. We are proud of Vietnam-India traditional friendship and fully confident that our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will continue to blossom in the next 50 years and beyond.”
